OK, so somehow (and it's all my fault) there was a total stuff-up with Figure 7.14. It was all correct in the final draft but when it came to preparing the 'pretty' version for publication I accidentally went back to a (ten-year-old!) completely incorrect draft. Here is what it should look like.
